  3. Menu Designer
  4. Use the arrow keys to navigate through the entries in the menu.
  5.  
  6. Press INSERT to insert a new entry above the one currently
  7.    highlighted.
  8.  
  9. Press DELETE to delete the entry currently highlighted.
  10.  
  11. Press ENTER to edit the entry currently highlighted.
  12.  
  13. Press F1 for this screen.
  14.  
  15. Press F2 to run the Options Editor.
  16.    Use the Options Editor to change the menu title, subtitle,
  17.    footer, external screen saver, minutes to become a screen
  18.    saver, and fill character options.
  19.  
  20. Press F3 to run the Colors Editor.
  21.    Use the Colors Editor to change the colors of the menu window,
  22.    highlight bar, desktop, and footer.
  23.  
  24. Press F4 to run the Size and Position Editor.
  25.    Use the Size and Position editor to change the width, length,
  26.    horizontal position, and vertical position.

  29. Options Editor
  30. The menu TITLE will appear in the header of the menu.
  31.    It is required for all menus.
  32.  
  33. The SUBTITLE will appear directly below the title in the header.
  34.    If you choose not to use a subtitle, then just leave blank.
  35.  
  36. The FOOTER will appear in the bottom right corner of the desktop.
  37.    The footer for the main menu wiil overide the footers for any
  38.    submenus. Leave blank if choose not to display a footer
  39.  
  40. The EXTERNAL SCREEN SAVER is the name of any screen saver program
  41.    that you want to execute after the specified number of minutes.
  42.    Sorry, but there is no means for specifying command line
  43.    parameters at this time. Leave blank to use screen blanking.
  44.  
  45. The MINUTES option specifies how long the menu stands idle before
  46.    it becomes a screen saver. This number must be from 1 to 255.
  47.  
  48. The DESKTOP FILL CHARACTER is the decimal code for the character
  49.    that you would like to fill the desktop with. Following are

  88. Use arrow keys to select the combination to edit, then press enter.

  90. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to change the foreground color.
  91. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to change the background color.

  93. Press ENTER or ESC to select a new combo, or press ESC again to 
  94.    exit the Colors Editor.

  96. The MENU WINDOW is the menu itself. 
  97.    The foreground controls the color of the border, normal entries, 
  98.    prompts in the status bar at the bottom of the desktop, and the 
  99.    clock in the header box in the upper right corner of the desktop.
  100.    The background controls the background of the menu, the status
  101.    bar, and the header box.

  104. The HIGHLIGHT BAR is the color of the currently selected entry.
  105.    The foreground controls the color of the entry name.
  106.    The background controls the color of the bar surrounding
  107.    the name.

  109. The DESKTOP is the color of the underlying screen.
  110.    The foreground controls the color of the fill character.
  111.    The background controls the color surrounding the fill character.
  112.  
  113. The FOOTER is the foreground color of the footer in bottom right
  114.    corner of the status bar.

  117. Size and Position Editor
  118. Use the arrow keys alone to move the menu on the desktop.
  119.  
  120. Hold down CTRL while pressing the arrow keys to resize the menu.
  121.  
  122. Hold down SHIFT while pressing the arrow keys for justification.
  123.  
  124. PAGEDOWN centers the menu horizontally.
  125. PAGEUP centers the menu vertically.
  126.  
  127.   ( When centering the menu, center it horizontally first, and then
  128.     vertically. This will keep the upper left title box from 
  129.     interfering. )

  132. Entry Editor
  133. Use the arrow keys or TAB/SHIFT TAB to navigate through the Entry
  134.    Editor.
  135.  
  136. The NAME is what will actually appear on the menu. This should be a
  137.    descriptive title pertaining to the function of that entry. The
  138.    name must be supplied.
  139.  
  140. The COMMAND is what DOS uses to invoke the program or command.
  141.    Separate commands can be specified if they are separated by a
  142.    semicolon (;). The names of submenus can be be entered without
  143.    any extension, because the .BAT is assumed. In the case of menus
  144.    named after users, the full username can be specified, even if
  145.    it exceeds 8 characters.

  147. The DIRECTORY is the DOS directory that you want to run the
  148.    commands from. This directory will be switched to before the
  149.    program is executed.

  151. Check Boxes:
  152.    Press space bar or 'X' to toggle the check marks on and off.
  153.  
  154. The SUBMENU check box should be checked if the command is a submenu
  155.    call. This takes care of appending the necessary parameters in
  156.    the menu file.
  157.  
  158. The RETURN check box hsould be checked if you would like to return
  159.    to the menu after executing the command. Leave this box
  160.    unchecked if you are making an "Exit" or some such entry. The
  161.    program will return you to the DOS prompt after execution.

  163. Be sure to include the file extension .BAT if you are calling a
  164.    batch file, otherwise the menu will not function properly.

  167. Menu Filename
  168. Enter the name of the menu file you wish to create, without any
  169.    extension. The .BAT extension will be appended when the new menu
  170.    is created. If you enter a name longer than 8 characters, it
  171.    will be truncated.

  174. Create New Menu
  175. Select OKAY to begin creating a new menu with the specified name.
  176.  
  177. Select CANCEL to immediately exit the Menu Designer without
  178.    creating the new menu.
  179.  
  180. titleHelp
  181. Menu Title & Subtitle
  182. The menu TITLE will appear at the top of the menu. It is required
  183.    and must be specified before continuing with the design.
  184.  
  185. The menu SUBTITLE will appear directly below the TITLE and is
  186.    optional. Leave this line blank if you choose not to have a
  187.    SUBTITLE.

  189. exitHelp
  190. Create Menu
  191. Select OKAY to quit and create the menu with the new configuration.
  192.    If you are editing a menu already in existence, the old menu will
  193.    be destroyed, and the new one created in its place. If you choose
  194.    not to destroy the old menu, you must choose EXIT and lose all of
  195.    your new configuration. Rename the old menu before going in
  196.    to edit it again.

  198. Select EXIT to exit the Menu Designer immmediately without saving
  199.    your new configuration.
  200.  
  201. Select CANCEL if you would like to return to the Menu Designer and
  202.    continue creating the new menu.
